100 theyyams at temple festival

100 Theyyams will perform as part of temple festival at Cheruvathur in Kasaragod from February 4 to February 11..Sri Nellika Thuruthi Neelamangath Bhagavathi temple perumkaliyatta mahotsavam which will be on for eight days is being celebrated after a gap of 25 years.The Bhagavathi temple occupies a pride of place among the theeya community whose 4000 families reside in kanhangad and neeleswaram muncipalities and cheruvathur padanna and valiyaparamba panchayats.The temple controls around 100 small and big temples in northern kerala.A feast would be given to devotees in the last four days of the festival.
