100 feet wide breach in canal submerges 5 villages near Daur (Pakistan)

 

NAWABSHAH: A 100 feet breach in canal near Daur has submerged standing crops on hundreds of acres of land here. Geo News reported on Friday.

Irrigation department said that the gushing water from the 100 feet wide breach in Gujrawah canal near Daur town has entered into Akhtar Jatoi, Imambakhsh Brohi, Somer Marri, Khair Mohammad Marri and Sharif Kambo villages, while standing crops on hundreds of acres of land have inundated.

Nwabshah Road has also submerged under breaching canal water affecting road traffic to Sukkur. The people of the affected areas have started shifting to safer places.

Irrigation department staff on information reaching the site have started he work of plugging the breach.
