LandiKotal resident awarded with Sitara-e-Imtiaz

LANDIKOTAL: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan on Monday decorated Wilson Wazir with Sitara-e-Imtiaz on the behalf of the President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain.
A celebration party was organized at the Walison Wazir’s house who was awarded with a Pakistan’s big civil award Sitara-e-Imtiaz on his social work for the promotion and development of minority citizens residing in Fata.
A good number of Christians male and female and children had gathered at Wilson home in Landikotal servants’ colony on Tuesday. Wilson Wazir, 40, was the first Christian in Fata who received Sitar-e-Imtiaz on his efforts to bring up the life standard, create jobs and education opportunities for the minorities living in Fata.
Wilson told that he was happy and proud that the government of Pakistan recognized his due efforts he did for the small chunk of non-Muslims including Christians, Sikhs and Hindus in Fata. He said it was a great moment in his life when the Khyber Pakhunkhwa governor was awarding him the civil award. He said it gave him more courage and passion to do more not for the minorities but for all walks of life living in Fata.
Wilson said people across the world congratulating him through phone calls and mobile text messages which would help reduce the negative perception of world community about Fata and its people.
Wilson Wazir, a Christian and teacher by profession did various hectic efforts and succeeded in separate quota for Fata minorities in Khasadars and Levies forces. He worked for non-Muslims’ worship places and through the government financial assistance renewed several churches and provided them with all necessary equipments. A large number of Christians, with the help of Wilson, have so far received cash and study scholarships in and out of Pakistan.
Wilson Wazir said his family had arranged the party to celebrate the historical moment where he cut the cake with the prayers of solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan. He said minority union in Landikotal will soon arrange a big party where they would invite all walks of life including political leaders, elders, officials and parliamentarians.
Wilson Wazir was among the other 156 other award winners including the 142 Army Public school’s martyrs and 14 others who had excelled in their respective fields of professions.
Political party leaders, civil society and Walison family lauded Wilson tireless social work which would help remove disparity, deprivation and ignorance among the non-Muslims living in Pakistan.
Younas Masih,50, brother of Wilson Wazir told this scribe that he had no words to express his cordially feelings for his beloved country who lived in and his brother devoted his life for peace and harmony for all sects of society.
