LANDIKOTAL: A meeting of Pakistan Muslim League(Nawaz) leaders and supporters was held here the other day in which they condemned the detention of a 10-grade student who was deprived of his metric exams while keeping him in the custody.
Israr Shinwari,PML-N Landikotal chapter president issued the press statement after he chaired a meeting which was attended by a number of party leaders and workers.The PML-N leaders criticized the officials of political administration said that the officials had violated the law and illegally arrested Maaz Shinwari, a student of grade-10 on the complaint of a rival party over his family dispute.
Fata PML-N minority president,Fanyas Sultan,GS Farmanullah and Hussain Ahmad lamented that non of the law in the world allow authorities to arrest children on the sins committed by their family members.They said it was also against Islam and Pashtoons’ culture to put under age children in lock up.
The PML-N leaders demanded of the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and political agent of Khyber Agency to take notice of the incident.They requested the high ups to help release the boy so that he could appear in the rest of metriculation exams to save his time and future.
A couple of days before an elder brother of the arrested student , Mairajuddin Shinwari , had told a press conference that his brother Maaz was innocent and was at the site when they scuffled with their rival party.
