Kayakalp Aspires To Inculcate The Culture Of Cleanliness To Gain Trust And Confidence Of Community In Public Health Facilities: Health Secretary

New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): ‘Kayakalp aspires to inculcate the culture of cleanliness to gain trust and confidence of community in public health facilities’. This was stated by Mr. B P Sharma, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare during the felicitation ceremony of Kayakalp awardees for their work in maintaining high standards of sanitation and hygiene in public health facilities. He also added, “with ‘Kayakalp’, we are taking a significant step towards achieving the goal of Swachch Bharat, as clean hospitals form an integral component of the larger Mission of Clean India.”

Speaking on the occasion on March 16, the Health Secretary congratulated the awardees and said that infection control protocols at hospitals, which are a part of the Kayakalp scheme, shall contribute to lowering the morbidity and mortality rates in the country. He also added that all hospitals and government health facilities should endeavor to maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the year.

Also present at the function were Dr. Jagdish Prasad, DGHS, Mr. C K Mishra AS&MD, Dr. Arun K Panda, AS (H) and senior officers of the Health Ministry and representatives from development partners.
