Government Is Making All Possible Efforts To Promote Ayurveda In The Country: Shripad Yesso Naik

Government Is Entering Into An Agreement With The World Health Organization

Bangalore (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik has said that the government is making all possible efforts to promote Ayurveda in the country. He was speaking at the Foundation Stone Ceremony for the Hospital Block of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Metabolic Disorders (RARIMD) at Bengaluru on April1.

The Foundation Stone for the Hospital Block of Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Metabolic Disorders was laid by the Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu and Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik at Uttarahalli Manavarthekaval in Bengaluru.

Mr. Naik disclosed that the Government is entering into an agreement with the World Health Organization to popularize Ayurveda across the world. The Goal of achieving healthy population is to be met through AYUSH healthcare system, the AYUSH Minister said.

Addressing at the function, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said that research in Ayurveda has become the need of the hour as it is currently being adopted into the mainstream healthcare systems of the country. Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems of the world. Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Metabolic Disorders, Bengaluru (RARIMD), a subsidiary of Central Council for Research in Ayurveda Sciences, aims at becoming pioneer in Ayurveda Dietetic Research and evolving centre for excellence in Ayurvedic Clinical Research. Government of India is extending all possible support for the progress of the Institute, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu explained.

Mr. U. T Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Mr. S. T Somashekar, MLA, Yeshwanthpur Constituency, Mr. Arya Srinivas, Corporator, BBMP, Hemmigepura, Dr. Sulochana Bhat, In charge, RARIMAD, Bengaluru and other dignitaries were present during the occasion.
