New Delhi, India, 04 March 2012 – Forum of Indian Photographers and Artists (FIPA) inaugurated a women’s only photography exhibition at its Poorva Sanskriti Kendra centre in Laxmi Nagar, Delhi, India.

The exhibition will be open from 5 March to 31 March and is being organized
to commemorate International Women’s Day on 8 March. The event is
showcasing 40 photographs from 10 women photographers including
international participants. The Show is Curated by Mr. Vimal S. Mehta, The
theme of the exhibition is open. Visitors can expect a good mix of
photographs from nature, people, animals, architecture and fashion.
Participating artists are Amandeep Kaur Bakshi, Bhawana Wadhwa, Jashomati Chatterjee, Monica Dawar, Priya Yamir, Priyanka Aggarwal , Rhea Sharan, Seema Thakur, Surbhi Singhal and Victoria Knobloch.

The show was jointly inaugurated by Ms Yelena. S. Shtapkina, Deputy
Director, cultural & information, Russian Centre of Science & Culture
(RCSC) and Ms Renuka Puri, senior photographer, Indian Express group in the presence of other senior photographers. Inaugurating the event, Ms.Puri
spoke about the importance of promoting talent among women photographers and emphasized on the power of women clubbed together with the power of the lens. Ms. Shtapkina from Russian Centre of Science & Culture (RCSC), referred to point of view of women being different as they see the world through the lens. She said, not only are women able to observe details but also they have emotional filters attached on their lenses. Mr. R K Paul, a veteran photographer also graced the occasion to encourage women as photographers. FIPA founder Vimal S. Mehta invited guests to share critical appreciation of the photographs on display and praised the participants for showing enthusiasm and coming forward with their select photographs.

The inauguration was followed by a cultural programme “Holi ke Hurr – dang, Kavita aur geet ke sang”. With Holi round the corner, the participants
performed skits, musical items, dance numbers and recitations to entertain
the guests and showcase their talent in other fields.

Photography Club of BITS-PILANI College at Rajasthan(INDIA) organised a 2 days Photography Workshop on 21st-22nd Jan 2012 at the campus, They called a professional Photographers from Delhi Mr. Arpit Gupta and Mrs. Seema Thakur Gupta of ASP Group as a faculty who are husband & wife both working together in Fashion Industry, Faculties demonstrated about the basics of camera and a practical shoot indoor and outdoor on portraits and reveled some of the secrets and fundamentals of taking better pictures.

Practical demonstration on smoke photography made very much attracted to them.

Large numbers of students from different course were there to attend and shown keen interest in the photography workshop by clearing their doubts.

While faculties shared some of there shootings experience of working environment with them.

Think you have the heft to pick up that 50cal machine gun and run full tilt through the mazes of the underworld with a hundred siths hot on your tail? Not if you are really some pimply faced ninety pounder wwho can barely lift a full glass of milk. Them siths are gonna feast on your meager entrails.

Hey fatboy, try huffing around those virtual worlds now that your corpulent ass has been identified by Microsoft software and not only made your lardbutt  a part of your gaming avatar, but restricted your abilities in grand theft auto to where you can only get in and out of a stolen car in a little over a minute and a half.

It really is a stroke of genius, linking all the info about you on the web to every character you chose for gaming, after all the info is out there, and it could serve as healthy inspiration.  But if you are a homely dirt brown brunette who longs to conquer new worlds and protect the worlds antiquities, better not try to be Lara Croft, you’ll end up a flat, two dimensional imitation.

Seriously though, the development could have some real value. What if they linked it to your automobiles abilities? No more mousey housewives hogging the road in behemoth SUV’s, no more little old ladies from Pasadena blowing by you at speed, no more dimwits passing on the right when someone is turning left.  This author has always thought vehicles should be assigned by physical and mental capabilities. Young, agile, buff? You get a Viper. That old fart that actually has one, he gets a Geo. And the author of this article, well, I’ve been on foot now for a couple of years.
