The Multi-State Lottery Association has informed us that there was no winner in last night’s Powerball drawing, bringing the jackpot up to a historic $1.3 BILLION (with a cash value of $806 million) on Wednesday’s drawing.
People are rushing in droves to the local market to purchase tickets and try to beat the odds to become the next BILLIONAIRE! Some of them purchasing hundreds of dollars worth of tickets.
The Texas Lottery reported that $5,838,152 in Powerball tickets were sold in a one-hour period just a few hours before the drawing took place Saturday night.
The jackpot has been increasing since November 7, 2015. It first broke the top 10 highest jackpots of all time last weekend with a $400 million dollar jackpot. This now marks the 18th drawing without a winner.
The odds of winning are 1 in 292 million. Last year when $564 million was won, the odds were 1 in 175 million.
Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
