Prime Minister Visits Chhattisgarh, Launches Jungle Safari

PM Unveils Statue Of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, Inaugurates Rajyotsav

Raipur (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi visited Naya Raipur in Chhattisgarh. He inaugurated and briefly visited the Jungle Safari in the city on Nov 1. He unveiled a statue of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay, dedicated the Central Boulevard as Ekatma Path, and launched the Naya Raipur BRTS project.

The Prime Minister met the participants of ‘Hammar Chhattisgarh Yojana’. Inaugurating the Rajyotsav, the Prime Minister distributed certificates to functionaries of two districts and fifteen blocks to mark good performance in ODF campaign. He also distributed LPG connections under the Ujjwala scheme and solar pumps to mark the launch of Saur Ujala Yojana, to select beneficiaries.

The Prime Minister recalled that it was former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had ensured the creation of three new states, including Chhattisgarh, in a peaceful and harmonious manner.

He complimented the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Dr. Raman Singh, and the State for showing how a relatively small State could scale new heights of development. The impact of the development initiatives will benefit generations to come in Chhattisgarh, he added. The Prime Minister said he sees great potential for tourism in the State, which can bring fresh economic opportunities for the poorest of the poor.

The Prime Minister also complimented the State of Chhattisgarh for taking initiatives that enable value addition for farmers.
