Chief Justice Of India Releases Coffee Table Book ‘Courts Of India- Past To Present’
The Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, the Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Chief Justice of India, Justice T.S. Thakur and the Judge, Supreme Court of India, Justice J. Chelameswar at the inauguration of the All India Conference of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), in New Delhi on November 26, 2016.
Book Seeks To Introduce Indian Judiciary To Citizens
New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): On the occasion of Constitution Day, Chief Justice of India Justice T S Thakur released the book published by Publications Division titled “Courts of India – Past to Present” on Nov 26. Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister for Law& Justice and Electronics & Information Technology was also present on the occasion.
The book has been designed as a Coffee Table Book which has several photographs of archival value which was steered by an Editorial Committee headed by Justice S.A. Bobde and other eminent luminaries of the country. The ‘Courts of India’ traces the historical evolution of the courts, identifies the diverse court system, compile their customs and practices and also contextualizes it. The book seeks to introduce Indian Judiciary to the citizens in a lucid manner.
