Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore Felicitates Former Captain Of Indian Football Team

New Delhi: Former Captain of Indian Football Team Mr. Gurdev Singh Gill was felicitated for his outstanding contribution to Indian Football. Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs & Sports Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore presented him a shawl, memento and a cheque of Rs. Five Lakh on the occasion on Dec 12.
The felicitation ceremony was organized as Mr. Gurdev Singh Gill was away in Canada when Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicitated the captains of Indian football teams that played in the Asian Games. Felicitation of Indian Captains by the Prime Minister was organized during the FIFA U – 17 World Cup on October 6 in New Delhi earlier this year.
Speaking after the felicitation ceremony Mr. Gurdev Singh said he is happy with the promotion of Football in the country as FIFA U 17 world Cup has attracted a lot of attention throughout the country especially among youth and school students. He expressed his gratitude to the government for felicitating former football players.
A winner of Arjuna Award, 67-year-old Gurdev Singh Captained Indian Football Team at 1978 Bangkok Asian Games.
