Sixth International Theatre Festival of Kerala

The sixth international theatre festival of kerala will get under way tomorrow at the Kerala sangeetha academy Thrissur with two dozen performances by 350 artistes from 23 troupes for eight days from January 27 to February 3.The theatre groups are from Czech republic Poland Germany Iran Israel France Norway Sri lanka Slovakia and Italy will share the stage with the troupes from india.It will feature colloquim with theatre scholars and critics of international repute providing a treat for the theatre buffs in the state.The secretary of the sangeetha natak academy P.V Krishnan Nair said that this years festival is a dynamic mix of theatre featuring puppetry from France dance from Israel and shakespeare dramas from India.Further the festival will host the premiere of burning of flowers,7 dreams of women,a piece devised especially for the ITFOK-2014 based on one of the themes of the festival,he added.Cultural affairs festival K.C Joseph will open the festivities at Actor Murali outdoor theatre at the Akademi on monday evening in the presence of theatre fraternity,which will be followed by the play the kitchen by Roysten Abel,the first performance of the festival–k.mohan
